A federal magistrate has released Derrick Long, one of the suspects charged in connection with the Cincinnati mass shooting, on a temporary no-cash bond. This decision came after Long was indicted on a new federal charge of "Possession by Prohibited Person" for having ammunition at Riverfront Live. Federal prosecutors had asked for Long to be held in jail until his trial, but she granted him bail. Long was shot five times and remains hospitalized in serious condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Both Long and Franeek Cobb, who initially faced charges of felonious assault for firing guns during a concert and party, were also charged with illegally possessing firearms or ammunition as a convicted felon. Both men are prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition as previously convicted felons.
