Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across parts of northern New Jersey this afternoon, followed by more widespread rain and gusty winds on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to remain above average on Friday, with highs in the 70s to low 80s expected to be around 10 degrees colder than the record set on Thursday. Saturday will be mostly cloudy and cooler, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s for most of the state and in the 50s along the Jersey Shore. A strong cold front is expected to move through the state late Saturday into Sunday, bringing showers and some thunderstorms. The return to slightly above-normal levels is expected by midweek.
