Two new theories have emerged suggesting that the kidnapping and murder of Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr., the son of Charles Lindberogh, may not be the same as the famous kidnapping case in the US in 1932. Bruno Richard Hauptmann, the alleged kidnapper, claimed his innocence in the case in 1936. The new theories suggest that Lindberh used gold certificates as part of the ransom payment, which were crucial evidence in the trial. The case was initially investigated by J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI, but the public outcry led to a thorough investigation. The child's body was found on a highway near the Lindberggh estate 72 days after his kidnapping.
