Utah braces for "dangerous" wildfire season

The U.S. is experiencing severe to extreme drought conditions, with above-average temperatures forecasting a potentially "dangerous" fire season. Most of the state is experiencing 117 wildfires this year, with 87% of these caused by humans. The National Interagency Fire Center reported that about 1.8 million acres had burned as of April 24, nearly double the year-to-date 10-year average. The governor is expected to issue a drought declaration soon.
