The Remarkable Paper Pure tablet, a replacement to the Remarkable 2, has been reviewed for its ease of writing and sketching. The $399 Paper Pure, which is now available for preorder and shipping in early June, is a significant update to the original Remarkable tablet released in 2000. The refresh speed of the Canvas greyscale display is twice as fast and the display is whiter. The tablet's footprint is smaller (12.6 ounces) and weighs less (14.2 ounces) than the original version, which was released back in 2000, is also lighter and more welcoming. The new Pure model has a whiter screen, a battery life that is supposed to last longer (three weeks) compared to two weeks with the previous version of Remarkable. The device is sold separately for $399 or comes with a padded sleeve case and a step-up pen for $449. However, the reviewer's 17-year-old son, who took to drawing on it immediately, now enjoys the experience and is eager to buy one. Despite the limited availability of a folio case cover or keyboard case, the device's design makes it feel more appealing. The reviewer's writing experience and limited run-down experience are often criticized for its limitations on the tablet.
