The United States of the world's largest container imports fell by 1% in March, according to Descartes. Despite uncertainty over U.S. tariff policies and the Iran war, the import volume remained steady at 32.3% above pre-pandemic levels. The import trend is seen as a measure of the health of the American economy, rising when the economy is strong.
