Nani Sahra Walker's debut narrative feature, "Shakti," will make its digital bow on Prime Video across the U.S. and UK on May 22. The film, set in Kathmandu, depicts a mother's struggle to protect her daughter from a changing situation and the country's inadequate legal system for sexual violence. It has received numerous prizes at international festivals, including the Heartland International Film Festival, the Santa Barbara International Film Fest, the International Film Federation of India and the Hawaii International Film Awards. The project was financed by Snehal Fulzele and Vrushali Satarkar, with additional backing from the Gerbode Foundation and the ARRI International Support Program.
