Chicago students from Ray Graham Training Center, a Chicago Public School, were led by Jesse Jones, dance captain of the touring production of "The Wiz," for a dance workshop led by Jones at the Nederlander Theatre. The students were taught a sequence of steps, slides and turns from the choreography to "Ease on Down the Road," a number that Dorothy performs with the Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion in the 1970s retelling of L. Frank Baum’s classic novel. The workshop was held at the venue hosted by Broadway in Chicago and included student actors from the school's own production of “The Wiz” last December. César Torruella, executive director of arts education for Chicago Public Schools, accompanied the students to the workshop and a matinee performance.
