Epic Games CEO, Tim Sweeney, has assured that the company's latest layoffs will result in "a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality individuals" as well as more than 1,000 employees laid off due to a decrease in Fortnite engagement and industry-wide challenges. Sweeney stated that the layoffs were not performance-based but personal reasons. He encouraged employers and recruiters to check out resumes from his former employees for potential new employees. However, this praise comes amidst a series of brutal layoffs, which also resulted in the deaths of three Fortnitem game modes.
