Newly released bodycam footage shows the moment an NYPD cop fatally shot Anthony Griffin, a machete-wielding nut who slashed three straphangers at Grand Center Terminal. The incident occurred on April 11. The officers were patrolling the transit hub when Griffin started walking up the stairs from the 4, 5, 6, subway platform clutching a large macheter. Despite being ordered to drop the weapon over two dozen times, Griffin ran back down the stairs onto the platform and continued to approach them. Detective Ryan Giuffre, who had drawn his gun, fired two shots at Griffin, who was later pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital. Prior to the fatal encounter, Griffin had previously been busted for menacing with a sharp object.
