Deputies from the San Luis Obissoon County Sheriff's Office have killed 48-year-old Joseph Munoz in a shootout with them after he allegedly fired a shotgun at them during a call about a potential threat to his mother. No deputies were injured in the incident. Munoz was a known felon with previous convictions for domestic battery, DUI, and drug possession. The deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave.
