Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update mocked the Trump administration for putting the president's face on passports and King Charles III and Queen Camilla's state visit, which were intended to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The State Department announced this week that a limited number of passports will be made with Trump's portrait on the inside cover as an indicator of the semiquincentennial. Co-anchor Colin Jost suggested that the president’s likeness could be used as a reminder of why he fled the country. Additionally, Jost commented on the British royals' four-day state visit to seek the release of a British hostage being held by an American terrorist.
