North Texas Residents Indicted in Oil Theft Conspiracy

A federal grand jury has indicted more than a dozen defendants from Texas and New Mexico for involvement in an alleged large-scale oil theft in the Permian Basin. The indictment alleges that several defendants stole crude oil from oil producers in the Eastern New Mexico region and stored it on land owned by one conspirator who then sold it to others at significantly lower prices. If convicted, each defendant faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
