Interior Secretary Burgum calls for IEA to release oil reserves to address supply shortage

U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum has called for the International Energy Agency (IEA) to release oil stockpiles to address a supply shortage triggered by the Iran war. This would be the largest such action in the organization's history. The Iran war has caused the biggest oil supply disruption in history, with most tankers unwilling to transport through the critical Strait of Hormuz due to fears of attacks from the Islamic Republic.
