An autonomous Waymo car drove the wrong way of a one-way street outside Cambridge Elementary School in Alamo Heights, Texas, causing concern among parents. The incident was captured on video by a parent who was taking her daughter to school when the car veered towards oncoming traffic. The driverless car evaded a police officer, unable to stop it, and the police were unable to prevent it. The problem was exacerbated by the busy nature of busy traffic and lack of stop signs along the road. Deputy Chief Cindy Pruitt of the Alamo Height Police Department confirmed that there have been two wrong-way incidents involving Waymo Cars this week, one of which occurred on a busy street outside of the school.
