A new real estate development, Union Crossing, is underway in North Sioux City, South Dakota to help address the affordable housing gap. The $13 million development is the first for Union Crossing and comes at a time when only 7% of the city's workers live in the city. The construction began in spring 2025 and will include commercial, single, and multi-family apartments. The project received nearly $3 million in South Dakota housing grant money from the South Dakota legislature to promote affordable housing.
