The Rockland County District Attorney's Office has announced that its Narcotics Task Force investigators and United States Postal Service inspectors have arrested 35-year-old Yamil Caraballo, who is suspected of receiving packages containing fentanyl powder in the U.S. Mail over the past three months. The charge of felony first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance carries a prison sentence of 8 to 20 years. The collaboration between these agencies led to the seizure of 1.2 pounds of fentanyl and the arrest of Carabillo. The Postal Inspection Service's mission includes interdicting and removing drugs from the mail, investigating individuals and disrupting domestic and international drug trafficking organizations.
