New Hope Speaker Series To Spotlight People Who Aided American Revolution

The New Hope Historical Society's 23rd Annual Speaker Series will focus on individuals, women, and African Americans who aided the American Revolutionary War. Daniel Lapidow, known as The Hebrew Hammer Blacksmith, will demonstrate how blacksmiths assisted the military during the war. Samantha Allison will examine the role of women who followed the Continental forces during the American Revolution, performing essential labor that supported the army's daily operations. Cynthia MacMillan will present a rare topic about clothing worn by the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, assisting with historical research and assisting with reenactors. John Rees will present an overview of African American women in the Revolutionary Army on April 27. Admission to the Speaker Series is $15 and free to New Hope historical Reservehope.
