HGO's "Barber of Seville" leans into cartoonish fun

The Houston Grand Opera is performing the comedic "Barber of Seville" through May 10. The opera is about a barber who helps a count win over a young woman kept under the watchful eye of her guardian. The performance is described as "sadorable", with exaggerated personalities, colorful costumes, and a playful portrayal of the characters. The opening night of the opera is scheduled for April 30 and May 8.
