A Multnomah County jury has convicted 43-year-old Noureddine Dib of attempted murder in a shooting at the Islamic School of Portland. The shooting occurred just before students were set to be released to their parents. Dib shot his victim in the abdomen and pursued him on school property while armed with a firearm and continued firing multiple rounds. The victim's daughter, Amineh Zakarneh, described the incident as "gut-wrenching" and "unbelievable" for a Muslim community. Sentencing is scheduled for May 7 of this year.
