The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) revealed that severe weather instability affected the country on 26 March 2026, with heavy rainfall reaching heavy levels in coastal areas and moderate to heavy in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta governorates, the Suez Canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt. The most noticeable change in temperatures was the drop in temperatures, leading to cool winter weather during the day and cold to very cold weather at night. The authorities have assured citizens that the severe weather conditions will gradually subside, with moderate rain expected along the northern coast and northern Lower Egypt, and light rain forecast for Greater Cairo and southern Lower Egypt.
