Italy's Cinecittà Studios is set to make a €1.1 million ($1.2 million) operating profit for the fiscal year 2025, following a major revamp in fiscal 2024 that saw the studios lose $12 million. Following this, they managed to lure Hollywood shoots such as Mel Gibson's "The Resurrection of the Christ," Antoine Fuqua's "Hannibal," and the live-action "Assassin’s Creed" series directed by Johan Renck. The studio's turnover grew by €8.9 million ($10 million) to €30.5 million ($35 million) and the studio's EBITDA (EBITDA) jumped to €14 million ($16 million) from €7 million ($8 million). The revamp has been funded through a €233 million ($268 million) loan provided by the European Union's post-pandemic recovery fund. The restoration of the Rome studio's water tank, which was not operational in the last decade, has also been fully restored and will provide a 60% higher production capacity compared to years before the revamp.
