Kathy Hilton, a former member of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and "Borchetta Housewife", fell for an AI diet scam, the "Jell-O diet," which she thought was endorsed by celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Kelly Clarkson, and Michelle Obama. The diet, also known as the "pink gelatin trick," was also causing severe bloating and discomfort. Hilton claimed her recipe used gelatin, vinegar and baking soda, but there is no evidence that combining these ingredients with gelatin with vinegar or baking soda creates weight loss. The scam plan has been spread on social media using celebrities' likenesses, but no celebrities have any association with the diet. Lisa R. Young, a registered dietitian nutritionist and author of Finally Full, Finally Slim, also warned that a balanced diet of whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, dairy, legumes and healthy fats is more likely to cause healthy weight loss than a diet that promotes unhealthy food restriction rather than balance balance.
