Berkshire's CEO, Greg Abel, celebrated two anniversaries at the company's annual meeting, including the 60th anniversary of Buffett's tenure as CEO. The company celebrated with a "jacket" with a large 60-word "jersey" and a three-minute video showing his achievements. Buffett praised Abel for his decision to become CEO, stating that he made a "100 percent successful" decision and that he is doing everything he did and then some of the best in all cases. He also mentioned that it had been one year since Abel was approved as CEO following the unexpected announcement of his unexpected departure from the company. Berkshire reported an 18% increase in operating profit and a record $397.4 billion as of March 31, up 6.5% from the end of the fourth quarter. However, the company has only bought back $234 million so far in stock buybacks, with only $8 million more than all of March.
