PG&E CEO Patti Poppe has pledged to significantly reduce monthly bills, stating that the company plans to bring them down in April 2024. This comes after a period of rising monthly bills by 20% a year. Despite this, Poppe stated that PG&E officials envisioned a future where bills could begin to decrease. She also revealed that prices have dropped 13% in the last two years and prices for the most vulnerable customers have dropped 23%. The company has been successful in reducing costs by 13% and reducing system reliability by 19% in 2025 compared to 2025. Poppe also highlighted the shift in energy efficiency and increased safety inspections by 600%. She also mentioned that the firm is shifting towards disaster prevention, which is cheaper for customers. Despite criticism about the company’s profits and profit outlook, she said 90% of a customer's bill doesn't have anything to do with profits, but pass-through costs.
