The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) chairwoman, Jennifer Homendy, stated that the investigation into a deadly crash at LaGuardia Airport was delayed due to long security lines at airports across the country. One investigator was stuck in Houston for three hours and the NTSB had to "beg" the TSA for assistance to get him through. The crash occurred on March 22, when Air Canada Flight 8646 collided with a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey firetruck responding to a separate incident. Two pilots, including pilot Antoine Forest, died and 41 passengers and crew members were hospitalized. The runway remained closed for over 12 hours and is expected to remain closed for days.
