ICE Deployed To ATL Airport As Travelers Asked To Arrive 4 Hours Early

The partial government shutdown has resulted in increased arrival times for both domestic and international screenings at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been left unpaid. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced that Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE) personnel would be deployed to support TSA operational needs. The presence of these agents was only intended to assist in crowd control and administrative matters. The White House continues to place blame on Democrats for significant travel disruptions across the US.
