Google Explains Why HTTPS Migration May Negatively Impact SEO

Google's John Mueller has responded to a question on Reddit about why a person had lost their top 3 rankings in Google after moving to HTTPS, stating that the process of securing a site can negatively impact its rankings. The move requires recognition, recrawling, and reprocessing of all the URLs individually, so give it time to recover.
