The New York Jets are acquiring quarterback Geno Smith from the Raiders in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. The move comes after Las Vegas was expected to release Smith after the start of the new league year. The Jets were looking for a veteran quarterback after Justin Fields struggled last season. The Raiders are expected to pay the bulk of Smith's contract, while the Jets will pay him the veteran minimum. The trade will become official after the league year begins.
