South Korean police have arrested a 40-year-old man for distributing a fake AI-generated photo of an escaped wolf, which caused an emergency alert to thousands of residents and delayed the capture of the actual wolf, Neukgu, who had escaped from a zoo two weeks prior. The man was charged with obstructing official duties by deception and told investigators he did it "just for fun." The police identified the man through surveillance camera analysis and AI detection software. If convicted, the man could face up to five years in prison or a fine of 10 million Korean won.
