Judge Kathaleen McCormick of Delaware has reassigned cases involving Tesla CEO Elon Musk to other judges after he accused her of bias due to her support of a social media post critical of him. The post allegedly showed an emoji praising a court verdict that could cost Musk upwards of $2 billion for defrauding Twitter investors. Musk's attorneys had demanded that McCormick recuse herself from two Tesla lawsuits. McCormick denied the motion for recusal, stating that she was not biased and dismissed a lawsuit against Musk last year. The companies still have two cases pending before the Court of Chancery regarding Tesla directors' compensation and a consolidated shareholder suit alleging that Musk breached his fiduciary duties to Tesla when he started a potential competitor in artificial intelligence, xAI.
