Former soccer star furious with new Olympic rule that’s ‘a total acquiescence’ to Trump

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that it will restrict women's competition at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics to biological females. The decision has been criticised by former soccer star Megan Rapinoe as a blatant nod to the Trump administration. The IOC also announced that an SRY gene test would be conducted on female athletes, if the test results noSRY gene, would allow them to compete in female categories. There are exceptions, including someone with Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (CAIS), but these are limited. The change was made to limit transgender athletes from competing in the female events.
