F Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins died in 2022 and the death of his former wife, Kurt Cobain, in 2024. Dave Grohl, who also had a child outside of his marriage, revealed that he was in therapy six days a week for 70 weeks, totalling over 430 sessions. He also mentioned his mother's death four months later and a public revelation of infidelity. Grohl credits his therapy to a series of challenges, including Hawkins' death in 2022, and his mother’s death in 2004. The musician also revealed he had recently become the father of a new baby daughter and plans to be a loving and supportive parent to her. He declined to address the firing of drummer Josh Freese, who played with the Foo Fighters for a single tour, and said no reason was given for the termination.
