European stocks have risen despite hopes of deescalating the Middle East conflict. The pan-European ​STOXX 600 index was up 0.2% at 581.92 points by 0708 GMT. The benchmark index is on track to break an eight-month streak of gains and its first quarterly decline in five. The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed willingness to end the military campaign against Iran if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed.
