Kia held its 2026 CEO Investor Day in Seoul, where it revealed a plan to reduce its EV sales target for 2030 and expand its hybrid range. The company also confirmed the first confirmation of a North American electric pickup truck and plans to use Boston Dynamics' Atlas humanoid robots in its Georgia factories from 2028. The five-year investment plan for 2030 is worth KRW 49 trillion and Kia is aiming for KRW 170 trillion in revenue by 2030. The announcement was made on the same day as 25% US tariffs on South Korean imports took effect. Kia's 2030 EV target stands at 1 million units annually, a reduction of roughly 20% from the 1.26 million target set at last year’s investor day. In place of this volume, Kia plans to increase its hybrid offer and sell 2.1 million electrified passenger vehicles per year.
