Johs Braathen Herland wins giant slalom as Utes finish second on opening day of NCAA ski championships

Utah finished second in the NCAA ski championships after a strong performance from Johs Braathen Herland, who won the men's giant slalom with runs of 57.54 seconds and 57.87 seconds, ahead of Colorado's Feb Allasina. Two other U.S. athletes, Sindre Myklebust and Pierick Charest, also finished in the top 15. The event was held at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, with Utah finishing fourth with 50 points. The competition moves to Soldier Hollow Nordic Center for the 7.5K classic.
