Owners of popular steakhouse chain 801 Chophouse file for bankruptcy with possible closures looming

The parent company of steakhouse chain 801 Chophouse, the upscale steakhouses, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing the need to restructure debt and keep operating its restaurants. The company, which also operates several 801 Fish and 801 Local locations, has locations in Des Moines, Iowa, Omaha, Nebraska, Leawood, Kansas, Kansas; Kansas City, Missouri, St. Louis, Minneapolis, and Tysons Corner, Virginia. If the owners improve their financial situation during this process, some locations may not have to close their doors. The bankruptcy filing was filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Kansas and listed liabilities totalling roughly $18.7 million.
