Liverpool's Hugo Ekitike is expected to miss the World Cup due to a suspected Achilles injury sustained during Liverpool's Champions League defeat by Paris St-Germain. The 23-year-old forward, who joined Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt in July, has been a standout performer this season with 17 goals and six assists in all competitions. However, Liverpool fears he may miss the start of the next season. Eikeike underwent scans to determine the extent of the injury.
