Harvesters monitors Kansas legislation on SNAP, Medicaid requirements

Harvesters is monitoring Kansas legislation that would increase requirements for SNAP and Medicaid recipients. The bill would require additional approval for state agencies and additional documentation for benefits like Medicaid and SNAP. This could potentially push the most vulnerable out of the system. For every one meal Harvesters provides, they fear that losing these benefits will strain their resources. The legislation is set to be debated by lawmakers on Monday, March 23.
