The California Secretary of State is investigating apparent voter petition fraud in San Francisco after a viral video showed a group illegally offering $5 for signatures and directing someone to use a fake name. The Secretary of state, which is responsible for vetting the signatures, stated that it is illegal to offer cash for signatures or knowingly file petitions with forged signatures. The incident has sparked outrage among Golden State Republicans and watchdog groups. The San Francisco District Attorney's office and Attorney General Rob Bonta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
