Clark County's Department of Environment & Sustainability and the Arbor Day Foundation have united to continue growing the "urban forest" they launched in 2024. They are giving away free trees in select neighborhoods as part of the Community Canopy Project, which aims to reduce heat and improve air quality. The trees will be given to residents in specific ZIP codes affected by the urban heat island effect. The spring giveaway will open to all Clark County residents at 8 a.m. on March 30.
