Experts are warning that a growing number of young men in their prime age are struggling with erectile dysfunction, which may be setting up a larger issue down the line. Dr. Joel Hillelsohn, a board certified urologist at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Chelsea, predicts that more young men are becoming more resistant to prescription drugs and are likely to be more frequent patients. This could leave many men with limited options and lead to some men seeking invasive treatments. Factors such as age-related issues affecting blood flow to the penis, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and hypertension are contributing factors. Erectile dysfunction was historically seen as an older man’s issue, affecting patients over 50 with underlying health problems.
