Australia's daylight saving is ending on April 5, 2026, with the end of daylight saving in the ACT, NSW, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania. Daylight saving time was introduced in 1916 to save energy during World War I and II. Once daylight savings ends, sunrise and sunset will occur one hour earlier, leading to brighter mornings but darker evenings. Daylight savings is observed in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. However, Queensland, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands don't change their clocks for daylight saving.
