Retailer Eddie Bauer cancels auction for 174 stores

Outwear retailer Eddie Bauer LLC has cancelled a bankruptcy auction for its 174 brick-and-mortar stores due to no offers received by the deadline. The company had already begun store-closing sales when it filed for bankruptcy last month. Despite the bankruptcy, Eddie Bauer remains open to any offer to purchase some or all of its retail assets. The bankruptcy will not affect Eddie Bauer's online sales, apparel manufacturing or wholesale sales businesses.
