Analysis finds Google AI Overviews is wrong 10 percent of the time

A new analysis from the New York Times has found that Google's AI Overviews, the Gemini-powered search robot, is wrong 10 percent of the time. The analysis was conducted with the help of start-up Oumi, which is involved in developing AI models. Despite this, the Times found that while AI overviews is usually right 90 percent of times, it generates tens of millions of incorrect answers per day. The report highlighted several instances where AI Overview's went wrong, including when it incorrectly stated the date of Bob Marley's former home became a museum.
