Reds RHP Hunter Greene (elbow) out until July
Published on March 10, 2026.
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene is expected to be out until July due to bone chips around his right elbow. A surgery to remove the fragments is required before an official assessment of Greene's status for the 2026 season can be made. The operation will be conducted to determine if these spurs pose a potential signal of ligament damage. Greene, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft by Cincinnati, had been experiencing stiffness in his elbow this month. Despite making 19 starts last season, Greene has a record and 3.65 ERA in 91 starts.
