Bavarian startup Neuramancer AI Solutions GmbH has raised €1.7 million to accelerate the commercialisation of its deepfake detection platform. The company, which rebranded as Neuraqua, is focusing on insurance fraud first and sees Europe's push for explainable AI as a competitive edge. The German Insurance Association (GdV) has documented billions of euros in annual damages from insurance fraud, a figure that is rising due to the easy use of generative AI. The funding round is led by Vanagon Ventures, Bayern Kapital, Nuremberg-based ZOHO.VC, and family office Lightfield Equity. The new capital will fund platform development, team expansion, and market entry.
