Mets’ Francisco Lindor takes rehab step in right direction with another coming quickly

Francisco Lindor, who has been sidelined due to surgery for a broken hamate bone in his left hand, is expected to begin taking full swings by Wednesday and is doing light defensive drills and incorporating more baseball activities. He hopes to be ready for Opening Day on March 26. The team is confident that as long as Lindor continues progressing, he will not miss any time during the regular season. Jonah Tong, another pitcher, used his new pitch, the cutter, frequently during his spring outing against Team Nicaragua. Luis Robert Jr. is set to play a game for the first time this spring for the Mets this week, and is scheduled to make his Grapefruit League debut at his new position on Thursday.
