The global creator economy is predicted to be worth $480 billion by 2027, with millions of creators globally generating income through brand partnerships, affiliate deals, and platform monetization. However, there is a gap between the investment in these creators and the respect they are paid to them. The author argues that the cultural impact of influencers is often underestimated. They are influential in influencing our culture, our economy, and politics. Influencers are also influencing how consumers shop, with the TikTok shop making it easier for consumers to shop more efficiently and raising the monetization standards for smaller creators who can make triple that of a creator with over a million followers. They also influence how we talk to each other and our language.
