Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Massachusetts) has initiated an immediate ban on his congressional staff from participating in online prediction markets, citing ethical concerns and risks to public trust. The ban comes after Sens. Adam Schiff (D) and John Curtis (R-Utah) introduced legislation to bar prediction market platforms from offering sports betting or casino-style games. Moulon stated that these markets have become a playground for corrupt insiders who place bets on topics such as election outcomes, wars, and even deaths of public figures. He emphasized that congressional staffers exist to serve constituents, not profit from these events.
